Dr. Bajhat Balbous

Specialist Psychiatrist

Dr. Bajhat is a highly experienced psychiatrist with over 35 years of expertise in mental health, specialising in general psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, addiction treatment and hypnotherapy.

He holds a Ph.D. in Medicine (Psychiatry) from the Moscow Research Institute of Psychiatry (1989), where he conducted extensive research and clinical practice in child and adolescent psychiatry. He also completed his Specialization in Psychiatry (Clinical Ordinatura) from the Ukrainian Postgraduate Medical Institute (1985), with advanced training in forensic psychiatry, psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. Dr. Balbous earned his Doctor of Medicine diploma from Kharkov State Medical Institute (1981).

Dr Balbous has previously served as a senior psychiatrist at Al – Amal Hospital for nearly two decades. His experience spans psychiatry consultations, leading multidisciplinary teams, implementing quality management systems and conducting mental health awareness programs.

With fluency in Arabic, English and Russian, Dr Bajhat is well equipped to serve a diverse (child, adolescent and adult) patient base. He has profound proficiency in treating Psychotic Disorders, Depression and Bipolar Disorders, Anxiety Disorders (including Panic Disorders, Phobias and Social Anxiety), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Eating, Sleep and Sexual Disorders, ADHD and Developmental Disorders, Dementia and Organic Psychiatry.

His approach integrates evidence based psychiatric treatments with psychotherapy techniques to provide comprehensive mental health care tailored to each individual’s needs.
