Dr. Kenneth Mitchell

Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr. Kenneth is a UK-trained consultant psychiatrist, with over 26 years’ experience. He is warm, caring and empathic, with a gentle, kind manner that puts patients at ease. He always performs a thorough history and examination, leading to an in-depth understanding of each patient, and an accurate and complete diagnosis. His treatment plans are evidence-based, targeted, yet holistic. This enables Dr. Kenneth to achieve the best possible results in the shortest possible time. He is open-minded, never judgmental, and always respects and adapts to the views and feelings of his patients and their relatives. He is passionate about helping, guiding and supporting patients.

Dr. Kenneth worked in the UK NHS in various specialties before starting his psychiatric training in 1995. He worked in various parts of Scotland and then London, UK. He gained extensive specialist training and consultant experience in management of emergencies, psychiatric intensive care units, forensic psychiatry, inpatient psychiatry and outpatient clinics.

He enjoyed teaching psychiatry to medical students and psychiatry trainees and was involved in medical school clinical examinations. Dr. Kenneth regularly supervised junior and senior trainee psychiatrists, and for 3 years he was Regional Training Programme Director, and Educational Supervisor, for up to 15 psychiatric Higher Trainees per year, for the North of Scotland Deanery

Having moved to Dubai in January 2017, Dr. Kenneth worked as a consultant psychiatrist in two high profile private clinics in Jumeirah. In December 2021, he was appointed consultant psychiatrist in First Psychiatry Clinic.

Dr. Kenneth welcomes patients of 17 years and over, with all forms of mental health symptoms and conditions. Although interested in all mental health problems, he is particularly interested in the management of anxiety disorders, insomnia, depression, bipolar spectrum disorders, ADHD, ASD and related conditions.
